About this tool
Compute the relative change from an original value to a new value, expressed as a percentage.
Formula
PercentChange = (New − Original) / |Original| × 100
Worked example
From 200 to 260 → (260 − 200) / 200 × 100 = 30%.
Notes
Percent change is asymmetric: a 50% drop followed by a 50% gain doesn't return to the original value (100 → 50 → 75).
