About this tool
Compute a tip on a restaurant bill and split the total across diners.
Formula
Tip = Bill · TipRate. PerPerson = (Bill + Tip) / N.
Worked example
$64.50 bill, 18% tip, 2 people → Tip = $11.61. Total = $76.11. Per person = $38.06.
Notes
In the US, 18–20% is standard for table service. For takeout it's typically 0–10%. Tipping norms vary widely worldwide.
