About this tool
Compute electric power dissipated or supplied in a DC circuit.
Formula
P = V · I. Combined with Ohm's law: P = I²·R = V²/R.
Worked example
120 V, 5 A → P = 600 W.
Notes
For AC, real power is P = V·I·cos(φ) where φ is the phase angle. The "power factor" cos(φ) reduces real power for inductive/capacitive loads.
