Formula
distance = steps × stride. kcal ≈ weight(kg) × distance(km) × 0.57
Worked example
10,000 steps × 0.762 m × 70 kg → 7.62 km, ~304 kcal.
Notes
The 0.57 kcal/(kg·km) factor approximates moderate walking. Faster walking or hills burn more.
