About this tool
Both ratios indicate central adiposity and predict cardiometabolic risk better than BMI alone.
Formula
WHR = waist / hip. WHtR = waist / height. (Use consistent units.)
Worked example
Waist 85 cm, hip 95 cm, height 175 cm → WHR = 0.89, WHtR = 0.486.
Notes
WHR thresholds: men <0.90 healthy; women <0.85 healthy (WHO). WHtR <0.5 is the simple "keep your waist below half your height" rule of thumb.
